ABOUT

John grew up in Sydney and has had a passion for music since he started playing the guitar at the age of 12. He studied both Modern and Classical guitar and played in several bands from age 16 to his late twenties. In 1990, John and his family moved to Coffs Harbour on the North Coast of NSW where John joined local cover band, Headline.

After playing the local Club scene for a year, the band decided to focus their attention on Rock'n'Roll hits and changed their name to 6 O'Clock Rock. They quickly gained a good reputation up and down the Mid North Coast and were booked consistently in the 3 years they were together. John left the band at the end of 1994.

 

12 months later John formed a 4 piece cover band called Johnny and The Hipjoints. The Hipjoints, as they were later known, became a popular cover band and secured regular bookings in pubs, clubs and local resorts. One of the highlights of their time together was winning the 1997 Coca Cola Battle of the Bands held in Coffs Harbour. After disbanding in 1998, John continued performing in a duo called Sultans Of Swing before going solo in 2000.

During his musical career, John has had the pleasure of entertaining guests at Weddings, Corporate Functions, Private Parties, Clubs and many Rock'n'Roll nights.
